Key Differences

The Casper mattress utilizes 4 different types of foam so you receive maximum comfort. Each layer has an important purpose. You can read more about the intricacies of the Casper Mattress here.

The Tuft and Needle mattress utilizes two different types of foam and does and has a ever so slightly firmer feel. You can read more about the intricacies of the Tuft and Needle mattress here. You can learn more about different types of foam here.

The firmness between the two mattresses is hardly noticeable. The Casper mattress feels like it is gripping you and fully encompassing you. The Tuft and Needle feels like you are more on top of the mattress. It is difficult to notice the real difference. We asked five people to help us with a blind test to determine the firmness between the two. In the end three out of five people agreed that the they preferred the Casper’s firmness over the Tuft and Needle. The other two had also mentioned that they did not like the feeling of sinking into a mattress too much because they were side sleepers.

Both mattresses have a similar feel but what is very clear is the difference in material. The outer most layers of the Casper is a clear winner with its higher quality cover. A lot of people tend to not notice such features because your mattress will be covered in sheets but the Casper’s cover is a nice touch. You can easily fall asleep on it without sheets if you chose to do so.  Tuft and Needle just released a new Mattress that now has a black cover called Tuft and Needle Mint. This Black cover catches the eye very nicely. The only thing that scares us about this is that you can’t tell how dirty the Mattress truly is. We are excited to see how well these are received in the marketplace.

The price of these two mattresses are significantly different. A queen size Casper costs $950 while a Tuft and Needle will cost you only $600. We find that a lot of people don’t notice a huge difference between these two mattresses so if the price of the mattress is important to you than you should most definitely stick to the Tuft and Needle.

Customer Service and Return Policy

Both companies utilize a very similar return policy. At this current time there is not much of a difference when it comes to this category. Both companies allow you to return the mattress up to 100 days and have excellent customer service.

Sleepcompare Choice

When it comes between these two mattresses our opinion is completely circumstantial. Our pick is the Casper Mattress but if price is more important than the Tuft and Needle is most likely for you.

Do I need a Foundation for my Casper and Tuft and Needle Mattress?

Although it is very nice to sleep at an increased height we found that it is not worth it generally to purchase one of these. The Mattresses will most likely feel the same as they did for you whether you are on top of a foundation or simply on the wooden slats of your bed. If you are still interested in finding a good one Casper has created one that people talk a lot about in reviews.
